Honor Magic 5 Pro 5G 12/512GB Pricing in Singapore and Specifications
The Honor Magic5 Pro, a cutting-edge Android 13 smartphone with Honor’s MagicOS 7.1 operating system, marks the brand’s return to the Singapore market in mid-2023. After a brief absence, Honor has re-entered the scene, bringing significant changes to its phone lineup and naming conventions.
Originally established as a spin-off from Huawei’s mobile phones in 2013, Honor later changed ownership to a Shenzhen state-owned enterprise in 2020. This move allowed the brand to maintain access to the Google Play app store and Google Mobile Services, unaffected by the US trade restrictions imposed on Chinese brands.
The Magic series, Honor’s flagship offering, takes center stage, and the Honor Magic5 Pro serves as a prime example of its innovation. The series showcases experimental devices such as the foldable Honor Magic V and V2, and impressive periscopic zoom lenses.
Parallel to the Magic series is the N series, represented by phones like the Honor 90, which share flagship-level components but without the extravagance.
Catering to the mid-range market, the Honor X series, exemplified by the Honor X9a, offers functionality and affordability.
In Singapore, the Magic, N, and X series are currently the most prominent and officially supported models by Honor.
As for the Honor Magic5 Pro itself, it boasts a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor from 2023, ensuring top-notch performance as an Android 13 smartphone running on Honor’s MagicOS 7.1.
With a curved 6.81-inch LTPO AMOLED panel, the Magic5 Pro’s display rivals other flagship-grade devices, offering a refresh rate of 120Hz, a resolution of 2,848 x 1,312 pixels, peak brightness of 1,800 nits, and HDR10+ support.
The phone is packed with high-end features, including an under-display optical fingerprint sensor, facial recognition front camera, NFC, IP68-rated water and dust resistance, DTS:X speakers, 5G network compatibility, 4K60FPS video recording, and a 5,100mAh battery with 66W wired SuperCharge fast-charging and 50W wireless charging capabilities. Additionally, it comes equipped with three dedicated processors for RF connectivity, S1 security, and X5 Pro graphics processing.
The standout feature of the Honor Magic5 Pro is its triple rear camera setup, consisting of a 50MP main camera with an 8P lens, a 1/1.2-inch sensor, 4-in-1 pixel binning at 2.8μm, f/1.6 aperture, and OIS. Alongside this, there is a 50MP ultra-wide camera with f/2.0 aperture, 2cm macro capability, and a 122° field of view, as well as a 50MP periscope telephoto camera with f/3.0 aperture, 3.5x optical zoom, 100x digital zoom, and OIS.
To enhance the camera’s performance, an 8 x 8 dTOF (direct time-of-flight) laser focusing module and a separate LED flash with anti-flicker and multi-spectrum color temperature sensors are included.
The Honor Magic5 Pro also introduces exciting imaging features, such as Customized Super Sensor Nightshot for improved low-light capture using all three rear cameras for its 100x zoom, and Millisecond Falcon Capture, which utilizes the phone’s imaging AI to automatically select the best frame.
Starting from 5th August 2023, the Honor Magic5 Pro is officially available for purchase in Singapore. The 12GB RAM and 512GB storage variant is priced at S$1,249. For a discounted price of $1128, you can acquire it at Red White Mobile via Cash or Paynow.
