Hi, the instructions is not very clear to me.
When I bring the items to a boil, I put the lid on and seal it. Then do I

(A) turn to HiGH (II) or MEDIUM (II) immediately and wait for the red indicator to pop up or
(B) wait for the red indicator to pop up and the. Turn the gauge to II or I.

I tried A but there was no steam coming out (which instructions say is when I should turn down the fire). It was hissing for a long time and red indicator is up but no steam.


Step 1: When you first use cooker do this test - fill the pot chamber about 1/4 way of the pot.
Step 2: Close the lid and cover (clamp shut).
Step 3: Then Put the pressure cooker ut on the stove, turn to HIGH HEAT to allow the temp and pressure to build more rapidly as the water boils.
Step 4: check to see if the red button is risen up. Once up, you may want to wait for 2 mins more to check if you can see steamflow is now rising out of the valve.
Step 5: Once step 4 completed. TURN DOWN HEAT TO MEDIUM (lower the heat) - this is the start of your cooking time count, ie you are now cooking with the pressure cooker.
Step 6: When finished cooking, turn off HEAT. You may use a) the natural cool method to release pressure (ie., let pot stand in a safe counter flat surface to cool down on its own - this may easily take 30 mins or more as the pressure from steam is still cooking in the pressure chamber). Do not attempt to open the lid until red button falls back down in the hole.

Step 6 - b) if using rapid release method. turn the valve dial to the icon featuring rapid steam release. Do take care not to put hand over the valve vent or put your face near because upon turning to rapid release it does have a powerful gush of steam which can not only startle you but also hurt you if your hand or face gets in the way.

I hope this is better/ clearer. The hissing from the steam build up is normal and likewise you may see thin streams of "smoke like" escape of steam from the pressure build up (steamflow is expected to rise out of the Selector valve on top of the cover lid during the entire cooking process, At times it is stronger and at times softer this can go on intermittently alternating over the period of cooking duration.

We do have the ring in stock right now, and the steaming basket will be in stock about a month later.

Can I use the steam basket with the pressure cooker to steam herbal chicken? The water level is up to the base of the basket?

Is the stock for the glass cover available? How much?

Hi the glass cover lid is not available.
Do you mean you dont want the chicken to touch the water? The steam basket is used when you do not want the food ingredients to cook in the liquid directly.
It depends on what cut size of chicken or whole chicken used the cooking times may vary, hence you may need to adjust the water/liquid amount used, ie. the longer the cooking times you may want to add a little more liquid. Yes you may sit the chicken on steaming basket and fill water up to the level at basket level. After cooking on Level 2 for a good 20 mins you may want to turn off the heat source and use the NATURAL COOL method to release pressure. Natural cool method means the pressure retained inside the pot chamber continues cooking until pressure is naturally released due to cooling down, which can take maybe another 20-30 mins. This may be an effective way of steaming chicken until it is fully cooked. Please refer to the cooking times guide in the operating manual for reference.

I hsve bought I set of pressure cooker from you last month, the single handle design 7L. But not sure how to use of the basket, and how long must replace the ring..


Hi do not worry about gasket ring replacement - we recommend change once a year - but this is subject to your usage, wear and tear.
