    Answer
    Hi,

May we know if you can switch off the aircon manually using the remote rather than using the timer function? If you cannot turn off the aircon using the remote control, then maybe the code is not fully compatible and might need another code.

    Please keep us posted, thanks!

    Thanks and best regards

    Answer
    Hi,

So sorry for the late reply.

    1) Normally the aircon should be switch on and off using remote right? The power supply is always on? So sorry I don't quite get the question.

    2) Yes, this is a code base universal remote control, For sharp there is many different model and need different code for differnt mode. Can press the up and down to run the code to 744 and then try to control the aircon, if not fully compatible then switch to the next code until it is fully compatible with full control.

    3) We don't have a Sharp AU-M18GV aircon with us so we can't test it, so far we experience once with a customer who had a 25 yrs old aircon and it doesn't work, othere than that one no customer feeldback with any issue.

    Hope this help.

    7) Press the set button again to set the code.

    8) Try increase and decress the temperature and also turn off the aircon to see if it response with beeb sound. If all response is good, this is the code.
    Question
Sorry, am confused by your following reply.

    1) First of all, please turn on the power supply to your aircon unit.

question : how, by using the existing remote?
my question was how to do it manually?

2), 3) & 4) already done otherwise how do I received the beep in my first email to you?

I cannot proceed to the next step if no code appears. All I can say is I have tried many times and regret to inform it is not working.

    Answer
    Hi,

When the remote control is brand new, when you press the set button for a few second, the bottom left corner of the screen block with a code word in it will show three - blinking because it is brand new and so there is no current code in it. Once you see there the three binking - just press the up/down button. After pressing the up button, you will start seeing the code start changing number, continue pressing the up button and the code number will run faster. Continue pressing until the code shows 774.

    Thanks and best regards,

    Question
I tried again after receiving your reply. Yes, there were 3 blinking when pressing the set button, however, no code appears even I followed the above instruction many times and also after hearing the beep. Once, released only see I believed the time 12:59 (attached fyi).

This email and the previous email served to inform the item is not working. I am not asking for a refund, but just to let you know and acknowledge it.

    Answer
    Hi,

We are open to exchange if the product is not working, we are just trying to assist to make it works here.

As in beeb you mean the aircon unit beeb after the code reaches 774 or more right? So the aircon beeb and turn on right? If this is the case, this should be the right code. But some aircon models share some of the codes, as in some code can only control some of the aircon functions, but not all functions, so in this case, some code can turn on but not off and so on. Just increasae the code further so that the aircon response again. The aircon might response to a few codes but there should be only one code that can fully control the aircon unit with on/off and temperature control, just toggle the code within the limit that works for Sharp, hope our response help and please let us know if there is further issue.

Btw the code will blinks for a while and if not modified it will automatically exit from setting mode and the clock will be shown instead, just press the set ag
    Question
I don't understand what you meant by the above reply, especially the following phrase:

As in beeb you mean the aircon unit beeb after the code reaches 774 or more right? So the aircon beeb and turn on right? If this is the case, this should be the right code.

I have mentioned in all my emails that can hear a beep, but NO CODE APPEAR.

If you cannot know whether the remote is compatible with my existing aircon model, I see no purpose for an exchange.

    wong
    Answer
    Hi,

You mentioned you hear a beeb, is it from the remote or from the aircon?

Also by the way the code should show up at the screen of the remote, replaceing the blinking - with number which is the code.

When you press the set button for a few seconds, and you mentioned you saw the blinking - at the bottom left corner on the remote screen, when it start blinking, can you try pressing the up button at the top and can you see the blinking - become a blinking number? If it does, please continue pressing and hold on the up button and the blinking code should increase rapidly and release the up button when the code is close to the 774, then please point the remote at the aircon and slowly increase the blinking code by pressing the up button once at a time.

The code should appear at the remote control screen even if it is not compatible with the aircon.

    Please keep us posted.

    Thanks and best regards,

    Question
    1) I believed the beep is from the aircon. After the beep, the 'air sound' is louder.

    Hi,

In this case any indicator light on the aircon that show it be being tuen on?

So in this case the remote control screen just show a blinking - ? You saw a blinking - right?

    Question
Don't really understand your question: In this case any indicator light on the aircon that show it be being tuen on?

    - Answer according to my own understanding. When on the aircon the light will automatically turn on. All the task is being performed by the existing remote.

    - when I use the 'new remote' pressing it down or up it only shows blinking, nothing appears.

    Answer
    Hi,

Btw, how many remote controller are you working on at one time? Please only use one remote controller at one time, just provide electrical power supply to the aircon unit, so that the aircon is in standby condition ready to be turn on using a remote control.

After pressing the the set button and with blinking -' showing up, when the up/down button is pressed, the blinking - should change to a blinking number indicating the current code of the remote control, so in this case we would assume that the remote control is faulty, sorry for the long debugging but this is the first time we experience with this issue.

We don't understand why the aircon will beeb when you are working on the remote control, but I guess if you don't mind we can arrange for an exchange for the remote control either meeting up around tenah merah area of by post?

Thank you very much and best regards,

    - Appreciate and grateful your effort and patience. Let’s go through the whole process again and see anything
missing to determine the cause before we arrange for an exchange:

    1) Use existing remote to on air-con
    2) Removed the batteries from the new remote to clear data. Insert batteries, see image attached.
    3) Press set, can see the following appeared:

    code temp remark
    9:98 26
    12:02 27 heard 1 beep
    12:04 30 blinking
    12:07 16
    - -- 26 see attached image
    No code appear

    4) No more blinking, continue to press and blink again, the whole process took about 3-4 minutes. I managed
to take a picture (see attached)

I also noticed from the remote control, showing ▲ is this the reason why no code only time appears?

    Hi,

OK, use the current working remote control to turn on and off the aircon, just to make sure it is in standby mode.

Remove and insert batteries into the new remote, proess power on and press set button for a few seconds, - -- blinking should appears.

once you see the blinking - -- press the up button, wait for a while, you should see a blinking 0 01 blinking, is this true?

you already see the blinking - -- by pressing up arrow button, it should change to 0 001 blinking also. don't wait too long before pressing the up button. If waited, it will exit from setting mode and will need to press the set button again.
